Daily Supplements for Women

Vitamins and supplements are part of my morning and daily routines.  Of course, nothing beats natural food like fruits and vegetables.  But we can always  “supplement” it with vitamins.  So I decided to share some of the daily supplements for women that I find beneficial to my own routine.  If you’re a mom like me who could use a little bit of energy and immunity boost, read on my friend.

Daily Supplements for Women

1. Multivitamins

Multivitamins are probably the most common supplement that everyone knows about.  It has Vitamin A, C, D, K, and other minerals for our body to function properly.  Some of us really don’t eat as well as we should and some foods available to us are not really as nutritious as they used to be and multivitamin should be able to supply what we need.

When to take: 1st thing in morning

2. Fish Oil

Fish oil has Omega-3 fatty acids that are good for the heart and prevents heart diseases.  Fish oil supplements are the purest source you can find and can also speed up FAT BURNING process.  

If you’re into working out, you’d be happy to know that it prevents muscle protein breakdown and preserves muscle longer.

When to takeTake with your main meals 2-3x a day.

3. Vitamin B

Vitamin B is good for energy production.  It helps convert food to energy.

When to takeAnytime

4. Vitamin D

Vitamin D has major roles for our BONES and TEETH.  It also benefits our immune system and reduces risk of flu.

When to takeAnytime

5. Magnesium

Magnesium is involved in a lot of mechanisms in our body.  It can

  • Boost exercise performance
  • Fight depression
  • Lower blood pressure

Additional Supplements for Working Out

1. Whey Protein

My ultimate goal is to gain muscles and lose fat.  I aim to gain muscles to achieve a lean and “toned up” look.  Whey protein does the job if you want to gain more muscle mass.  My personal fave is Optimum Nutrition’s Gold Standard 100% Whey.  It has 24 grams of protein per serving without sacrificing the taste.

Don’t worry ladies.  I’m pretty sure you’ve heard of this but we won’t bulk up by gaining muscles.  We just don’t have enough testosterone to do it, and gaining hard earned muscles actually helps in burning more of those unwanted fats!

When to takeAfter workout or as a snack

2. BCAA (branched-chain amino acids)

These BCAAs are the building blocks of protein and it aids in growth and recovery of muscles.  It also helps you get in an intense workout and finish strong.

When to takeBefore, during, and after workout

3. L-Carnitine

I use L-Carnitine for fat loss and increase in ENERGY and ENDURANCE.  It is shown that L-Carnitine turns stored fat into energy which speeds up the fat burning process.

When to takeMorning  on empty stomach

4. Glucosamine

If you’re a heavy lifter like the cross fitters and such, I suggest Glucosamine to protect your joints and prevent joint breakdown.  Consistent heavy stress through lifting heavy weights can take a toll on your joints overtime. 

When to takeAnytime 

5. Glutamine

Glutamine gets rid of unwanted fat while preserving your muscles.  It plays a key role in your immune system so it can be taken even when you’re not working out.

When to takeMorning, before bed, and after workout

As always, accompany these supplements with a solid workout routine and healthy nutrition and you will definitely see results.  Nothing can substitute real wholesome food but these can give it that extra “umph!”
